Grade 3
Grade 3 can be treated as an extension of Grade 2, still building on their repertoire of tactical skills and introducing more advanced technical skills to the kids. Here, we will explore newer and more complex chess concepts that are suitable for their growing understanding. These include strategies like planning ahead, recognizing common patterns in games, and learning to think critically about their moves. Key areas of focus will include:
- Intermediate level tactical concepts: Students begin to delve deeper into tactical ideas that require a higher level of calculation and precision
- Board Vision: Understanding the influence and potential of all pieces on the board, whether they are actively attacking, defending, or neutral.
- Pattern Recognition: Develop an instinctive ability to recognize and execute common patterns seamlessly during gameplay.
