Grade 4

In Grade 4, we begin to extend the students’ calculations, further reinforcing their pattern recognition while simultaneously making them more effective. They are encouraged to go beyond simple pattern recognition and start thinking about long-term planning. Accuracy becomes a key focus, as students learn to carefully evaluate their moves and anticipate their opponent’s responses.

  • Multi-move planning: Involves thinking several moves ahead and anticipating their opponent’s responses. They learn to visualize potential outcomes and calculate complex sequences of moves, considering multiple possibilities before making a decision.
  • Accuracy: The emphasis is on precision—students will be trained to consider different outcomes and choose the best continuation based on a thorough evaluation.
