Grade 5
Grade 5 is where tactical understanding meets structured thinking. Students at this stage already have a strong foundation and now begin learning how to turn small advantages into long-term plans.
- Positional Play: Learning how to control key squares, manage pawn structures, and activate pieces effectively.
- Intermediate Endgames: Rook vs pawn, opposition, and king activity become central themes.
- Consistency & Accuracy: Reducing blunders, identifying candidate moves, and playing with intention.
- Planning: Introducing basic planning tools (minority attack, open files, weak squares) and integrating them into their games.
