System of play
This is one Open, FIDE-rated rapid tournament played over seven Swiss rounds under the FIDE Laws of Chess.
- Games use 15 minutes plus 10 seconds increment from move one. Default time is when a player’s clock reaches zero.
- Players must be students aged 18 or below, born in 2008 or later, and must supply a valid FIDE ID.
- The base fee is S$35 for rated players and S$50 for unrated players. Current or previous-term Chess Grande students receive 10% off the applicable fee; processing fees are shown before payment.

Registration and acceptance
Registration is open to the public and is completed through the form and secure payment flow on this page.
- The event is limited to 60 players and may close as soon as capacity is reached. The published deadline is 2 November 2026 at 23:59 Singapore time.
- After payment, we’ll confirm the registration using the FIDE ID and rating status provided. We’ll contact the person who registered if anything needs clarification.
Result procedure
Reporting results
Players are responsible for reporting each completed game to the arbiter.
- Call an arbiter when the game finishes and do not reset the board until the result has been verified.
- Follow the arbiter’s result-recording instructions before leaving the playing area.
- The Chief Arbiter’s decisions on tournament play are final.
Playing hall
Player conduct and electronic devices
Players must follow the FIDE Laws of Chess, these regulations, and all arbiter instructions.
- Smoking is prohibited throughout the venue and building. During a game, players may speak only to the arbiter or their opponent as permitted by the Laws of Chess.
- Players who finish become spectators and must leave the competition room after recording their result.
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, playback or recording equipment, and other electronic devices are prohibited in the playing hall. Devices must be switched off and stored as directed by the arbiter. Random checks may be conducted.
- A device that is seen, felt, heard, rings, or makes a sound during play may result in an immediate loss under the tournament rules.

- Food and drinks are not provided. Participants should make their own meal arrangements for the 13:00 lunch break.
- Parents and guardians may not enter the competition rooms. Nearby waiting options include Jade Hill Cafe Bar, Clover Coffee House, and the coffee shop in front of the building.
- Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Accessibility arrangements may be requested by email before the event.
